Five gas field workers were seriously injured in an explosion accident that took place on Friday, November 22, 2013, at an Encana drilling site in Pinedale, Wyoming.
It is unclear at this time what exactly caused the explosion accident, but it appears that the accident was linked to the welding that the workers were performing on the drill site. The explosion accident took place at 10:15 a.m., causing a massive fire that emergency responders were only able to put out at approximately 1:00 p.m. The explosion was especially dangerous, because it occurred near a battery of six condensate tanks.
The explosion accident resulted in personal injuries to five workers at the Wyoming drilling site. One of those workers was in critical condition, two were in serious condition, another was stable, and the fifth was treated and released from the local emergency medical clinic.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the local Sheriff’s Office will investigate the personal injury accident.
