This past Monday night, firefighters rescued a man and a woman from a burning building in a 3-alarm fire on the third floor of a building in Ashland, Massachusetts.
The fire broke out at 289 Main Street in Ashland and was reported just after 11:00 p.m. Firefighters responded immediately and observed that two people were trapped on the building’s third floor. Using a fire ladder, the firefighters proceeded to rescue the two fire accident victims from the burning building.
After rescuing the couple, the firefighters worked for over two hours to put out the fire.
The man and woman were taken to a nearby hospital’s emergency room to receive treatment for smoke inhalation. They were later released.
The fire ravished the building, leaving it uninhabitable and forcing seven residents to seek shelter elsewhere.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but early indications point to the fire sparking at the back of the building, near a door.
