The deadly collision occurred earlier this month in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta. A commuter train struck a truck hauling fuel, sending a fireball of flames shooting into the sky.
The accident occurred just before noon. A company spokesperson said the truck was transporting gasoline, but according to police the truck was surely carrying gasoline when it burst into tall flames.
At least seven people have died as a result of the crash, with about 20 more seriously injured. Injuries included burns to legs, hands and stomaches. Hundreds of passengers were on board the commuter train and were seen running and screaming from the catastrophic sight. Many were trapped inside, unable to maneuver due to the thick black smoke that saturated the riding cars. The cause of the collision and explosion are still under investigation.
Train accidents can yield countless injuries due to the hundreds of passengers riding at any given time.
